A dynamic American Month.
In the face of such horrific political turmoil, family and work provided a much needed balm.
Jim began 2026 in his new studio in New Jersey working on paintings and a new series of prints with lithographer Nina Dine.
Jim also finished a manuscript for a new collaboration with Cuneiform Press, a book of 90 poems written over the past few years, entitled, “Each Day, At Night.”
The book, his third with poet/printer/publisher Kyle Schlesinger, will be available later this year through Cuneiform Press’s website.
Jim spent a week in Portland, Oregon at the studio of Michael Hagedorn, the bonsai master and owner of the exquisite bonsai collection that is lent seasonly to the Portland Japanese Garden.
Jim is working on a series of botanical drawings destined for an exhibition in Seoul with PIBI Gallery in the coming year.
Jim spent an afternoon with the prestigious print collector and arts patron, Jordan Schnitzer. Together they visited the Schnitzer Family Foundation and viewed Jim’s work in the collection.
And lastly, Jim met with an old friend, Kathy Kuehn, an incredible artist and printmaker who introduced him to the master printmaker Paul Mullowney—two immense figures in Portland.
