Comments
Lithograph plates were drawn in New York City, Paris, and Walla Walla, WA. The 6 additional lithographs serve as a visual introduction, presenting the main figures of the story. Four of them correspond to the lithographs made for chapters 3, 12, 18, and 26, albeit without their textual elements. A book edition of this portfolio, combining the 36 lithographs with the text by Carlo Collodi, was published 2006 separately in German and English by Steidl, Göttingen (cat. no. 598).
